Can I wear only one Heel Seat? 4) How do I wear the Heel Seats in my shoes? 5) What types of shoes can they be worn in? 6) Do HTP Heel Seats provide arch support? 7) What type of material are the Heel Seats made of? 8) How long do I need to wear the Heel Seats before I can expect relief? 9) Can I expect to feel any discomfort while wearing the Heel Seats? 10) How often should I replace the Heel Seats? 1) I've tried other heel pain products, including custom orthotics. What makes HTP Heel Seats so different? Custom fit orthotics are a completely different product altogether. Custom orthotics offer cushion, general comfort, and are only effective in some cases of minor foot conditions, such as flat feet or high arches. In addition, the common shoe inserts available at your local drug store or athletics store are also designed specifically for comfort and adding cushioning to a pair of shoes, and not for long-term treatment of painful conditions such as plantar fasciitis or heel spurs. HTP Heel Seats are a patented treatment and are designed specifically to treat the heel pain caused by Plantar Fasciitis, Heel Spurs, or other related conditions. Because of their effectiveness as a long-term treatment for common, yet painful foot ailments, they are much different than other products and orthotics available that at best can only provide short-term comfort. 2) Can Heel Seats be worn in conjunction with custom orthotics or other shoe inserts (i.e. shoes cushions, arch supports, etc.)? No, Heel Seats should not be worn in conjunction with custom orthotics or other shoe inserts other than the original insoles of your shoes. By wearing two of the same, or two different shoe inserts in your shoes, the biomechanical balance of your body can become disrupted. When this occurs, the effectiveness of the Heel Seats becomes significantly reduced as a result of abnormal mechanics of the foot during movement. This not only will inhibit healing, but it may also cause further damage in the feet, knees, and lower back. 3) I only have pain in one foot. Can I wear only one Heel Seat? Heel Seats are most effective and are designed to be worn as a pair. By wearing only one Heel Seat, the biomechanical balance of the body will become upset. During movement, abnormal mechanics of the feet that result from wearing only one Heel Seat may reduce the effectiveness of the HTP treatment. 4) How do I wear the Heel Seats in my shoes? The Heel Seats should be worn as a pair on top of the original insole of your shoes. They are designed to be worn in any pair of shoes with a full backing and should always be worn without additional shoe inserts or orthotics. On the bottom of each Heel Seat you will find the letters (R) Right and (L) Left, which corresponds to which Heel Seat goes in the correct shoe. 5) What kind of shoes can I wear the Heel Seats in and can they be interchanged from shoe to shoe? HTP Heel Seats can be worn in any pair of shoes that have a full backing on the heel. Also, the Heel Seats do not have any type of adhesive on them which enables them to be interchanged between different pairs of shoes. 6) Do HTP Heel Seats provide arch support? Heel Seats are specifically designed to address the conditions that affect the plantar fascia and the heel of the foot and are not intended to add support through the arch of the foot. 7) What type of material are the Heel Seats made of? Heel Seats are made of a special material called KRATON. This material is a soft type of rubber that has a closed cell structure to ensure that the Heel Seats do not absorb any moisture, sweat, or bacteria. This type of material prevents the Heel Seats from slipping or sliding in your shoes. 8) How long do I need to wear the Heel Seats before I can expect relief and healing? As with any treatment, everyone's body heals at different speeds. With Heel Seats some relief may be felt immediately. However, plantar fasciitis, as well as other related conditions of heel pain, may require anywhere from five months to a year to be completely healed with the Heel Seats. 9) Can I expect to feel any discomfort while wearing the Heel Seats? Some discomfort may be felt when first putting on the Heel Seats. This type of discomfort can be characterized as a slight pressure or aching feeling between the heel and the arch of the foot. This occurs because our patented Fascia Bar rests in that area, which is also where the plantar fascia ligament attaches to the heel of the foot. When you move, the discomfort you feel is the Fascia Bar stretching the damaged plantar fascia ligament, thereby helping to strengthen the tissue and repair the injury. When wearing the Heel Seats you may also experience alternating bouts of pain, with noticeable pain on some days, while on other days there is no pain. This usually occurs in the first four weeks of wearing the Heel Seats as your feet are adapting to the treatment. 10) How often should I replace the Heel Seats? We recommend to replace the Heel Seats every 6 months. That time is based on the average usage under what is considered normal conditions; however, everyone's foot's different and some people wear them more or less than what is considered average so this could increase or decrease our suggested time frame. My recommendation is if the heel seats have helped relieve your pain then look into replacing them if the pain starts to return, but to avoid waiting for the pain to return is why we recommend every 6 months. We do not have instructions for how to care of the heel seats, since they really do not need to be cared for. The Heel Seats are currently made out of a material called Kraton. It's a soft rubber-like material. It's really unlike anything you've tried in any other orthotic or foot product although it will probably feel very similar. Kraton is a material formulated during a study in New York to find a new material that would simulate and take the same shock absorption as your natural heel pad, which makes a lot more sense if you think about it. So, its specially formulated material designed to feel like and have the same shock absorption as the natural heel pad. It's hard enough to apply the designed pressures to certain parts of the foot and soft enough to mold to any shoe. All the gels and cushions are nice and sometimes comfortable, but not as long lasting and beneficial as your actual heel pad. Since, the heel seats are made out of a durable product there is not need to wash the heel seat throughout its lifetime. However, if they need to be washed you can lightly wash your heel seats with mild soap and cold water. We recommend cold water to prevent any color bleeding. Wash only when needed. |
