Heel Pain from Dress Shoes
Looking good can be expensive. The latest fashions are not always affordable. And, unfortunately, new evidence indicates that often fashion is not always healthy either. Sadly, many of today's dress shoes can cause foot problems, including heel pain.
Construction Of Dress Shoes
Ironically, typical men and women's dress shoes are not made with the foot in mind. Instead, designers consider the latest fashions and trends. In most cases, constructing a fashionable shoe is the best way to make a profit. Rarely, do these fashions provide the comfort that our feet need. Often, they are too flat, high heeled, or slip on. Whatever the style may be they do not prevent the heel pain that you experience because of common foot problems.
Standing In Dress Shoes
In addition, many individuals stand in their dress shoes throughout the day. This can cause more abuse to the feet and put an individual at risk for further injury. In fact, standing is a leading cause of plantar fasciitis, a top foot problem that causes heel pain. Therefore, standing in dress shoes only increases the likelihood that a person will develop heel pain.
Options
Avoiding heel pain can be difficult if you have to dress up for work. However, try to purchase a pair that provides the most support. And only wear them when necessary. Consider taking your shoes off during your lunch break and when you leave the office at night. Also, if possible, try to add inserts into your dress shoes. These inserts offer more support. If this is not an option, make sure that you stretch your feet properly at night to avoid heel pain.
